The project "AI and media literacy for the future" is a modern educational programme aimed at strengthening the digital, media and critical competencies of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is implemented by the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the Directorate for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.

In a time of rapid technological development, the rise of disinformation and the ever-wider use of artificial intelligence (AI), the need to educate young people in media literacy, critical thinking and the ethical use of digital tools is becoming extremely important. This project is the Islamic Community's response to contemporary social challenges, with the aim of offering young people the knowledge and skills they need to act responsibly and consciously in the digital space.

Project goal
General goal

To empower young people with skills in media literacy, critical thinking and the responsible use of artificial intelligence, so that they are more resilient to the manipulation of information and actively contribute to the development of society through ethical digital engagement.

Through four thematic modules, the project participants will develop media, digital and AI literacy, critical thinking and creativity — with the aim of designing and producing video materials, podcasts and infographics.

Significance of the project

The project "AI and media literacy for the future" builds on the Islamic Community's previous successful projects carried out in cooperation with the European Union and represents a strategic step towards modernising educational content in the madrasas.

Through this project, the Islamic Community confirms its role as a responsible social and educational actor, committed to the development of young people, the strengthening of dialogue and a contribution to a more stable, tolerant and informed society.

At the same time, the project contributes to strengthening the institutional capacities of the Islamic Community, improving cooperation with the European Union and promoting the values that connect Bosnia and Herzegovina with contemporary European educational and social trends.

Implemented in cooperation with the European Union. The content is the sole responsibility of the Islamic Community and does not represent the views of the European Union.
